So far that seems to be the case. I don't mind it though, I love the challenge. Makes me want a camera that can take faster continuous shots though.

The 40D is pretty fast... Not 1Dx fast but still pretty darn fast.

Don't know what your budget is, but the 50D is a nice bridge body between the Rebel series and the prosumer/pro bodies. It does 6 frames per second IIRC. I loved mine, it did great at the track trying to catch sequences or fast action. The price of the 7D on the used market is dropping too, and at 8+ frames per second, not many other bodies can match that without spending a LOT of coin.

Thanks guys. I checked all three out and it looks like the 7D may be a future (maybe 6-7 months ) purchase. I really like the 8 fps, weather resistance, and EF-S lens capability. So far I found a used on for $950 on CL. BUT, I found a 50D for $489 used on B&H. I may or may not have been able to get that one but the price range that they are selling at is very attractive and may sway me to go the 50D route.

Check KEH.com too. If your going the used route..They are here in GA

If you do, save for the 7D, it handles high ISO better than the 50D, which does a decent job by itself. Plenty of good high ISO stuff in the 50D owners thread here on POTN. Personally, I find the images easier to work on from the 50D, the sensor in the 7D is so sensitive it makes getting the exposure right more critical.

I loved my 50D, I miss it some, but I did not need to have 3 bodies, that was just too much.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I will be shooting but I've always been the person to have more than I need at the time. I could see myself shooting bands and maybe at some friends parties and such so it could be worth the investment for me. But that is something I will think about.

Thanks! I'm here at work in Marietta and I am staying in my nice and semi-safe building Definitely praying that the tornado's stays away from Marietta/Smyrna!
