thanks. i was trying to stick to ISO200 for the most part. it was pretty sunny, so no issues there. got the good glass, just need the skill :p
ill put up a sample with EXIF tonight when i get home. i cant remember if i ETTR'd, probably not. im sure LR3 can clean up most of the noise.... but i was looking at a coworkers 5DIII images handheld at night and was very envious!!!!

have to watch under exposure.. number one generator of noise, particularly on a crop sensor.

I also lust after a 5D3.... maybe someday...

Well, one leaves the family and one joins! Hi everyone, I'm new here to the Canon forums and I just moved up from a 20d to the 50d. For my needs, I think it will suite me fine for at least a few years. I just love the larger files. Will post pics soon!

5DIII and 50D two different beasts

By the way, I used both together for an event last week :)
Here are a few of shots from the 50D.
Look at the Flickr album (external link), or the 5D3 thread for shots from the other body. There are obvious differences, but both do the job.

I'm seriously considering a 50d to go alongside my 5dc as a backup body. They're going for really good money, from a buyers point of view anyway and the images in this thread are a pretty good reason for buying one.

I've just had a look through about 10-12 pages and I think I'm sold.
