Oh, I do believe I would keep my 60D, 15-85 and 10-22. Great stuff, there.

The original title that I coped specifies "equipment" but in my rulebook tickets to Europe, Africa or Asia would be valid choices to spend it on too.

On, now that could be fun!

Let's see . . . South Dakota for Prairie Chickens in early March
Klamath for waterfowl in late March
New York in the summertime for deer-in-velvet-antler photos . . .

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Heh.
But you live in the US already.

Why would you need $10K to travel within the country?
Or do you stay at 5 star hotels?
Or would you stay four weeks in every location and need the 10K for mortgage payments back home and cost of living as you would not have a dayjob in those months?

Oh, I didn't mean I would use the whole 10k for the three little trips. I would use some of it for upcoming trips, and the rest for gear.

It's just that I'm really hoping to spend abut 2 weeks in SD for the prairie chickens next month, but really doubt I'll have the $600-$700 it will take to pull it off. Then there are the prairie chickens up in Minnesota - if I'm going to SD, I might as well add a week in MN. It's always good to shoot the same subjects in different locations, so as to ensure some good variety in the imagery. Add about $400 to extend the trip to MN for an additional week.

Same thing for the Klamath trip - that would cost about $800 to do for two weeks.

And I really want to go to New York and shoot some whitetail deer that I recently learned about . . . but that's 3,000 miles away. A 3-4 week trip for that would cost me in the neighborhood of $1500 - maybe a few hundred more.

So, you can see that just the next 6 months of travel would suck up a couple grand.

Then in the fall the big game animals rut, which means Colorado and/or Pennsylvania for Elk in September, Minnesota/New York/Montana for Whitetail Deer in November, Montana/Wyoming for Bighorn Sheep in early December. Maybe even a trip down to Tennessee for Whitetail Deer for the late rut they have there in mid December . . . see how $10k would be completely gone in a couple years.

I do things real cheap - I don't sleep in 5 star hotels. In fact, I sleep in the driver's seat of my Toyota Corolla as much as my body will bear. When I get too sore and achy I migrate into a $40 a night motel. If there's no motel for $40 or less, I go just home :(

LOL.

Once you have a couple of black ones and a couple of white ones they look all the same to her...
Just never let her see the total collection, only show her the one you have on your body on that day.

If I were to drop another $10k (counting PS, my backpack, and all my other accessories, I've already got close to 10 grand in the game), I'd buy a used 1D MkIV and 500mm f/4. I plan on doing so once my car is paid off.

I already have the gear I want. I would spend the ten grand on a European vacation to use what I already have.

Nikon D4
Nikon 14-24
Nikon 70-200

With 2 bodies, 8 lenses, and 2 flashes, I've probably already got 10k worth of Canon gear.
