I thought all those kind of toys were outlawed in Australia.

Seems all you guys in the US think that for some reason.

Stories like this might be part of the reason:

Australian Gun Law Update
"It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars."

Old story that one.

In any case the main thing we can't have since the laws changed are semi auto centrefire rifles. Some people can get them but only for specific reasons i.e farmers with large numbers of cattle.

Something of interest is we now have more firearms than before the bans (there have been two) which have cost almost $1billon. Pretty much wasted money.

I trained with the M1 back in the early 60's when I was in the Marines. What a great weapon!

I certainly hope so - I haven't even had a chance to fire it. Had to send it back for repairs because the clip wasn't seating, nor would the first round chamber without EXCESSIVE force.

The original models took a lot of abuse and are quite expensive now days. Good luck with the repairs!
