Nifty grew bored with life in a small Town and has headed off to Ottawa, Ontario, with my personal assurance for his well-being and a good visit there for all!

It's been a pleasure - happy travels Nifty!

I'll do some posting around the forum to see if we can lengthen the Canadian list a little.

Man, up to 4th on the list already. Quite a lot shorter wait than last time! I think I ended up waiting nearly 2 years to get nifty before. Looking forward to hosting it again!

I will probably be sending it on it's way Monday or Tuesday if I can get some time to run out and get to a few more locations with it.

Hi everyone. My name is Julie and would like to thank my good friend Pat for vouching for me so that I can host the Canadian Nifty. I'm a transplanted American having moved to Canada twenty years ago by way of California, Ohio, and Virginia. It's a pleasure to be given a virtual world tour by the various Nifty hosts and I'm excited to have the chance to share some of my adopted country with everyone here. I expect to have the Nifty at the end of next week and while I'm waiting, I'm plotting out a tour schedule. :D

Ottawa! Please take a photo of my MP. I'd like to know where they've been hiding. :)

Could try but they can be very elusive beasts. ;)

I'm beginning to wonder what happened to Addled and the Euro Nifty.

At it again today. I went out to the store and grabbed the camera and the Nifty Fifty.

1. The place I used to work. It's the only big plant in the area that is left. If this one were to ever leave we'd be in big trouble economically.

2. One of the last covered bridges in middle Georgia. I believe there is one more in Northern Georgia but it's not as kept up as this one is.

Interesting shots of that bridge, CameraMan. Why covered bridges at all? To protect them from the elements maybe?

I'd imagine they lasted longer than normal uncovered bridges. Remember, horse and buggies crossed over these. Not cars so they weren't built to sustain 2,000+ pound vehicles. So they were able to spend a little more to cover them. Maybe they were used as rain shelters, maybe they were just built that way to look fancy.

I don't know for sure if that's why they built them like that but that's just my rationalization on it. All I know is that this is a pretty cool place to shoot portraits. I was supposed to have a model with me today but she never showed up. Oh well.

They built the covered bridges for romantic encounters , like in the movie "The Bridges of Madison County". ;)

I love these covered bridges, have yet to come across one in Canada. So this one is foot traffic only CameraMan? I had never considered that they wouldn't support the weight of a vehicle.

Pat! You really do have to come down here sometime. There are two covered bridges just on the other side of the river in Quebec.
