What does the teacher recommend? What are the other students using?

I never even thought about her asking for new lenses, but that would be perfect. Now when I want a new lens I can use the excuse it is for her class, without the new lens she may fail. She should have enrolled earlier, I could have more lenses already.

^Hahahaha, awesome! That's pretty much how I got my 20D... my dad needed a new camera and he saw that I had taken interest in photography and was taking a class for it so I got a 20D and 50mm 1.8II for my birthday that year, I was in heaven! And for the record, I had by far and away the nicest camera out of anyone in the class... I graduated in '07 for reference. In my experience everyone else was just using P&S's, though our teacher was pretty awesome and pretty much demanded that whatever we use must have a OVF.

We went to the store this morning and she held the T4i and 60D. She preferred the smaller T4i, kinda what I thought, so I will probably go with a rebel. Not sure which one yet, maybe a used older rebel to save some money or a brand new T4i.
