Awesome photos folks!

May I ask what may be a silly question? :D

Are these northern lights visible to the naked eye as seen in these photos or only look that way captured on film?

Mine are close to what is visible the naked eye. Longer exposures can definitely pull out more detail and brighter colours, and when they are REALLY active, I tend to stop shooting and just enjoy the show. At times they can be bright enough to cast shadows, and look close enough that you could almost reach your hand up and push them around. Around here anyway.

QUOTED IMAGE

I hadn't noticed until I had a look at the 360 degree pano, but the green shadows are awesome.
