i gave my wife my T2i when i upgraded to a 7d...

i sold the 7d along with my 580exII to help a family member with some fairly serious financial issues...

i didnt sell the 17-55 f2.8 IS USM but gave it to my wife because its a great lens and she can use it with her camera...

as you may or may not know, THIS lens puts a great big shadow in the image when using the pop-up flash...

she wouldnt be interested in a big bulky speedlite (like a 580) so im wondering what the 270 EX normally sells for (used). i think it would be an ideal (sized/powered) flash for her since she probably wouldnt use it if it added a lot of weight...

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed

I think it would be dandy for fairly close work when bouncing. Not the brightest in the world, but looks like (external link) it does a nice job.

Its overpriced for what you get. But if you cant convince her to use a 430ex then it might be your best option.

I bought the 270EX on clearance to go with my T3i. When I upgraded to the T4i I bought the 430EX II but kept the 270 because of it's small compact size. It's nice to have when you are traveling light or just shooting candid family events and want the point and shoot simplicity. Much better results than the pop-up flash.

The 270 ex II is actually a sweet little flash. I have larger flashes, but this one lives in the camera bag, and works nicely on or off camera. Noticeably better than the on-camera. can be a slave. Only drawback is no swivel. Can has refurbs for a treat.
