It's a no brainier, get the lens. Are you sure it's the version II? If so it's an absolute steal.

Are you on crack?!!? This isn't even a close choice. The lens is the choice by no less than 17 miles and 6 city blocks! ;)

Lens!
The 6D will just come down in value while the 70-200 wont, especially from that price.

I'm in the same boat I want both a 6D or a 70-200 2.8 IS II but i can only afford one.

Thanks for your input guys. After my unforgettable "test all you can" experience with the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM II, all I can say is WOW. Glass really made the difference on my 7D. I really like the results with my Sigma 50-150 OS it is also tack sharp! But this bad boy has this superior bazooka built quality and optics. Really happy with the lens and surely will stay for good. Saving up maybe before the year ends, my next target would be 5Dmk3, hopefully.

$1220 is just a good price for this lens; if he was not your friend, I'd call it scam without thinking twice. Definitely get the lens. If you are in US, $2050 is too much for 6D.
