I am going into San Francisco with my gf for a few medical tests and I am going to get about 2 whole days with a bike and 1-2 days with a car (can go out of the city). Just wondering what I can go do while I have these modes of transportation. I live in Hawaii and can bike pretty descent distances so don't be too modest. I have been over the golden gate bridge by bike before and it was cool but if there is something worth seeing beyond it I would easily do it again or I would move to other places... Thanks in advance!

Had a 6D....
Then had a daughter....
Now have an SL2 and Mavic Pro.... Man life changes.
I would encourage you... To just go for it.

Depending on your choice of scenery, lots of places north of GG bridge. Muir Woods (redwoods), Mt Tam, Point Reyes and many nice scenes along the coast. Your taste may run more to Napa Valley and other interior areas.

If you want to get out of the city, in addition to what Stan mentioned, you could instead go South down to Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz or Monterey. Or you could get really adventurous and head East to Yosemite. Both of those options would be a lot of driving, especially Yosemite but it would be worth it if you never been. If you decide to go Yosemite, check the weather because if it is snowing of just snowed you aren't going to want to go because you'll need tire chains and the drive will be even longer. The only recommendation I have for in SF is Marshall Beach which gives you a better view of the Golden Gate than Baker or any other beach does.

If you have a car one day should definitely be spent in Big Sur. It's magical.

Car - drive down highway 1 from Big Sur down south - Monterey and 17 mile drive are definitely some thing you should check out.

Bike - Golden Gate bridge, Muir Woods etc - the city would be be good as well.

Do Yosemite! It is like 4 hours or so. I am flying down to visit my father in SF and we are driving to Yosemite for 3 or so days in a few weeks.

So I am actually going there in March for 3 days, and started putting together this list of must have landscapes and city scapes for myself. Here is the google map link with all the points on it that I plan to do.
