buying new wide angle lens n throwing away kit lens

so guys,
i think its time to throw away my kit lens.
n buy a new wide angle lens. i wud be using it as my walkaround lens as well.
mostly capturing landscape day/night
havea budget of around 500$.
Suggestions please.
i want to buy a lens n keep it for many years. so suggesgt me accordingly


Canon 7D, 18-135mm , 50mm 1.8, 55-250, 100mm macro , a lightweight tripod for travel, intervalometer, my camera bag , thats all i got :D

A few come to mind.

Canon 15-85
either the Sigma or Tamron 17-50

New these would be over $500 but you may be able to get them around $500 used.

I bought the Tamron 17-50 and with the rebate it came to $400. I love the lens.


T3 gripped / Tamron 17-50 2.8 / Tamron 70-300 VC / Rokinon 8mm fisheye / Canon 430EXII Flash

tam 17-50 sounds great atm .
any other recommendation ?
