Need some help picking out a bag for my 500mm F4. Right now I have the Think Tank Glass Taxi. It is a nice bag, but I want one that I can carry the camera and lens attached. Looking at 2 right now. The lowepro trekker 600 II AW or the Tamrac 5793. I dont have a local store that I can go try them out or look at them.... Right now I am looking more at the Tamrac, just because of size... It does not look as big as the lowepro. I have a Tenba that holds most everything else, just looking for something that I can have the 500 attached to my 7D.

Any thoughts on these bags?

Thanks

I have the tamrac with the same setup (7D + 500mm) and a teleconverter. I can fit that plus my kit lens, 60mm macro, 40D. And if I want it to bulge a little either the 100-400mm or the Sigma 150mm macro.

As for the backpack, I love it. It really well padded and comfy. Really love the outer pockets for memory cards/batteries.

Thanks, I sure wish I could see them both before I buy.... But I think the Tamrac is winning out.

Is the Tamrac smaller then the Lowepro ?

I don't know about the Lowepro Trekker 600II. My lowepro is a small one when I don't take the 500mm with me.
