Hehe... Decided to give the LCD protector a try. Never used one prior to this. So I bought one for both the 1DX and the 5D3.

Of course not! Only a smart person would have done that! Ha Ha!
I'm sure it will happen again.

In the mean time back to today's pics...
Today I was at the AZ Pole Vaulting Academy. Some of the athletes were on the US Olympic team and someone said one of the guys was the current US record holder. Just chose this sequence...got tons more! 70-200 f2.8L USM II

It's adhesive. I'm not sure if magnetic would be good for the LCD. :)

I see more than a few birders in the group here. How are you guys handling the lack of crop when shooting birds with the X? Are you missing it at all? I've not found anything my 1DIV can't handle, but I am tempted just the same.

Means nothing...crop in post if you need to.
Buddy of mine shoots the mk4 and we have done both birding and aviation side by side. Other than he's a master at post processing, I think there's no noticeable difference in quality. The 1Dx was able to acquire focus lock on the birds faster than the mk4 and the higher burst rate meant i probably had more to choose from but we also determined my years of competitive trap and skeet shooting might have scewed that comparison. I'm very quick on target. We'd have to trade cameras to make it a true test. Hmmmmmm....
The mk4 is still a bada$$ camera though. Obvious from looking at my buddy's pics that in the right hands its lacking nothing! Me being a relative newbie, I need all the tech help I can get! Ha ha!

I was fortunate enough to be able to get this pic of a mother dolphin swimming with her very young calf whilst we were cruising along the West coast of Oahu Island.

I would have loved to have jumped in the water and swum with them both to get some pics of them from underwater, but sometimes certain things are best left alone and undisturbed.

(it was taken with the Canon 100 - 400 lens at the extreme focal length, and is very heavily cropped)
