Not many have used this so not a lot of reviews yet. I used Zeikos grips on 5D2 and 7D in the past and couldn't be more happier.

No need to bash me or a third party accessory. Its just a personal choice. I have heard some bad reviews about Meike grip, but this company always had positive reviews.

I love Zeikos, I have one on my 5D3 myself ..I bought mines on eBay though when I first found it! It was $79.99 though still better than the $300 OEM one. I love the Zeikos more cause it's lightweight, it feels like my 5D3 is a champ!

i had a Zeikos grip on my old 7d and it worked great, no issues. also have a Zeikos grip for the 5d2 and it would intermittently not detect one of the batteries.

Does this have a metal plate in the battery compartment/tripod screw in?

Believe it's plastic, I had looked one time after reading the Pixel grip thread.

Got mine yesterday, It does have a metal plate where it mounts to the camera. It feels really solid and all functions including the joystick work just fine.

I am just not sure I am a grip person. It seems like alot of extra bulk just to add one extra battery.

Exactly... always thought why can't they make it a little smaller, more closer to their pro bodies with grip integrated into the body.
