Here are a couple of shots from a concert where I tested my friend's 28 1.8 on my 600D:

They're maybe not as sharp as the ones I take with my 50mm 1.8, but it will work for me, so I'm planning on getting the lens for myself.

I have processed them in Camera Raw and Photoshop - most importantly added an unsharp mask. I used to sharpen with the "sharpen" tool (Filter - sharpen - sharpen). But a friend suggested I instead use Unsharp Mask. I don't really know what the different parameters in Unsharp Mask do - my friend just suggested I set Radius to 1.2 (or not higher than 2), the Threshold to 1 and the Amount to 50-100 (or not higher than 150). And that works fine for me.

C&C welcomed :-)

Has anyone had any issues in terms of IQ or AF on this lens? I have heard some horror stories. Just wondering if it's really that bad.

I had this lens for over two years with my T1i. Never one bit of a problem and I always loved this pictures this lens was capable of. I have read this is 'Canon's hidden gem' and I had to agree.

Interesting, I will have to purchase one and see for myself :D

Thanks for your opinion.

If there is, I'll be sending it straight back

Also, nice lens lineup. Something this range in a prime will fit well, maybe a little wider depending on what you do. How is that Sigma 35 for you?

My 28 should be arriving today :D

I was planning to pick up the Sigma 35, but one of these popped up at the right price so I'm giving it a spin for a while. It was this thread which made me decide to get one so I can't wait to get out shooting with it and start posting in here.

Nicole is a female.

And that's probably in Mammoth.

Oops! :D Sorry about that.
I've been quite busy lately and it's driving me nuts because I couldn't test my brand new 28 properly! So naturally my cat was forced to pose in a serious photoshoot ;)

This was shot at f/4, ISO400, 1/160s with Canon 600D

Must test this at wider apertures as well. At f/4 it's scary sharp, lol, at least compared to the Tamron 17-50.

Made some smoked salmon bites for a recipe on my food blog. The 28mm came in handy.
