I think that you'll find the 70-300mm is also too short for birding on the 5D2. Check out the Canon EF 400mm f/5.6L USM or the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM.


Thanks for the tip - I might seriously check out the 100-400mm - the weight scares me but it sure looks like a nice one!

I used my Sigma 17-50 F/2.8 on this one..(all I had with me..;))


EOS 6d, 7dMKII, Tokina 11-16, Tokina 16-28, Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8L, Mixed Speedlites and other stuff.
