Hi All

I recently upgraded to a 5D mk iii from my 7D and I've had to update my firmware on my PW's to this effect. When I was using my PW's on my 7D I had no problems at all, just set the Camera to AV and let the Mini and Flex do the work (thats what I purchased them for).

Now I cant seem to get them to work the same way when using my 5D, camera is set to AV and Flash is set to ETTL but Im just getting low shutter speeds all the time..?

I backed up my settings on the Mini and Flex before I did an upgrade and now setup the new firmware to match what I screen captured before the upgrade. Now some of the settings are in a couple of different places and there is also a new tap after the upgrade.

New firmware and settings below, has anyone else had this issue or am I missing something in the settings? Your help would be very much appreciated!

Xray

Have you checked the shutter-speed range for AV in the "External Speedlite control" menu?
(You must have a Speedlite attached to the hotshoe to access the menu) There are three choices: Auto - 1/200 to 30sec, 1/60-1/200 sec - self explanatory, 1/200 fixed. If set to Auto, the camera sets a SS for the ambient exposure and the flash fills in.
The other choices force the flash to provide enough light to match the chosen exposure.
You may have set the 7D with option 2 or 3 and not set the same on the 5DmkIII.

Regards,
Eric

I have my pw trigger set to "auto" instead of 5DIII. Works well for me with that setting. I also have my standard trigger setting set to channel 32 with ControlTL to channel 1.

OK, well looks like changing the menu settings in the 5D did the trick! I changed them to the following and the PW's are doing what I wanted them to do now..
