Congrats on the 500mm it's a great lens that will serve you well. This is a Red-shouldered Hawk and a very nice pair of shots. Keep them coming.

I have to ask....How much did that stick in front of it bother you. Stuff like that drives me nuts and makes me think they do it on purpose. :p

thank you everyone, for the positive feedback.. had never heard of a Red Shoulder Hawk an after googling the image i had thought it was a Red Tail as the front plumage is identical...

I Bought the lens from a great member here, an am really enjoying it so far..

Yes Duane, the stick was driving me nuts.. i was in my truck with the lens out the driver window an couldn't move forward any further without risking him taking off...

I tried to remove it in Lightroom but don't have the skills.
