They popped off when using my old ali rig on the side of the car once.

Crazy mofo.

The woods are also a much softer rubber so one chipped the outer ring seal and lost the ability to stick to anything.

Most likely a small manufacturer defect that you didn't notice until you used them a while. Woods would have replaced this for you for free. For a while I thought that these nicks were caused by people putting the cup protector on in a rush, but there is simply no way to cause this issue with the protector, and if not with the protector, then with what? Manufacturer flaw.

I've also then had the top screw mounts come loose on a few of them.

Only person ever lol.

I do now bring two spare suction cups with me on each shoot just to be safe

Very professional.

Get a room.

Haha, well, I've had this room with George, just clearing the air for the people who weren't privi to the conversations.

I took this shot as a joke because my wife and I thought it would be funny. It ended up the featured article on Jalopnik for an entire day. Proof that I actually rigged it! --> http://oneninety8.com …e-ways-to-capture-my-son/ (external link)

I might have to DIY a rig now just for my nephew!! Great idea and well executed.

This is one shot,it only looks like sharp because of the size of the image.
Frankly speaking is quite blurry, that's why i had to sharpen strong.Look on the front of the car.:)

a'right, let me first thank everybody for the wonderful thread. Read it from start to finish in 10 days or so.

I have my clamps and tragic arm on order, and I think that I'll take 2 or 3 woods cups from GGR.

Now, my question would be... What would be a best way to attach cups with extension to a pole? Is there any diy solution, or alternative to avenger ball/swivel pin in a way that you can articulate the extension from the cup to the superclamp/pole?

In short: alternative ways to articulate extension from a suction pad?

Mind catching me up on Ste's comments?

I hate my Lever Lock Magic Arm when Im working by myself. I would much prefer a Variable Friction one.

Someone needs to update this thread. All of the pictures on the first page are gone. So much for the tutorial unless there already is a new updated page. :) I'd like to set one of these up.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

And did you wade through the rest of the 200+ pages?
