Slightly off topic, but would you or anyone else know how to change the distance scale window on my 16-35L MKII. Somehow it got cracked. The lens works fine but I find the crack a tad irritating especially as I don't know how it happened....

Yep, I did the same thing with my 70-200/2.8 LIS II. Order up the window and adhesive ring, pull the old one off and pop the new one on. It's a 5 minute job and cost me about £28 ukp

Hi! I am trying to replace my LCD cover for my t3i and i can't get the damaged one to come off! It is kind of driving me crazy...i am using the hair dryer and suction cup and nothing. Also, the place where i ordered the LCD screen has had the tape in back order since June...which is absolutely ridiculous...they told me i could just use a silicone based glue. Do you think that would be a good idea?

Does anyone know if this procedure is the same for the T4i? Curious if the touch screen changes anything. I am also wondering if the parts are the same as for the T3i since the screen is the same size. Thanks.

Ordered new screens for my 5D2 today. No part # came up for the top double sided tape. Anybody know if that comes already on the top lcd screen?

looking at the parts catalog it doesn't show any tape gasket for the top window, just the CB3-4963 window itself. Maybe it just clips in?

I wonder if this will work for the top lcd glass?

I replaced both of my lcd screens, back and top on my 5D2. People tape does come on back of the top one. Was easy and looks like new!

Ok....I've just returned from a photo gig and the top LCD window on one of my 5DIII's has cracked pretty spectacularly...I guess I'll be ordering up a new plastic window and adhesive strip....lol...

did my 40d a while ago, put the suction cup more to a corner of glass, you have to wear gloves the heat from the dryer is really hot!!! keep the dryer moving over the glass in a about a minute the corner will lift, keep moving the dryer around the perimeter of lcd and it will lift off. I used a suction cup from my Christmas lights it had a little "S" hook on it which help me pull on the cup.

I have had a flip up LCD protector on my 5d2 since new (minus the flip up part). This has a window mounted on a plastic base which covers the buttons down the left side edge, and clips to the camera body. When I took it off to clean around it the other day, I found small scratches along the bottom edge off the camera screen. I had been sooooooo careful fitting the damn thing too. The scratches are side to side whereas the "protector" snaps on up and down - go figure!
Looks like a squeaky bum moment coming up for me soon too!!!

I need to replace my 60D screen too due to a light scratch! I was worried it might be different since it's an articulating screen instead of fixed. Sounds like it was pretty easy?
