If you are referring to the photo of Yoda I guess I didn't think of it as gruesome. Since it was basically just dirt in her eyes I thought it was OK to post it without putting any warning. I'm really sorry if it scared your daughter and I'm sorry if anyone did feel bad looking at it. It wasn't my intention to begin with, just wanted to show the great difference one can achieve taking care of an abandoned animal.

The spoiler tag doesn't seem to work so I just edited this post and turned the photo into a link with a warning. If you think I should do the same for the second and third photo where she might be seen as a bit 'monstrous', just let me know.

Thanks for hiding it. Now I can safely let the kids browse the forum. I didn't know it was dirt... at first it look like a cat with his face ripped off.. we only watched 2sec before closing the page.

Anyway, not big deal! The others picts are fine. Sorry to be annoying... We love your cat!!

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Kevin.
2013 has just begun, still too early to write off the remaining months.
Best to you and your kitties.

Off-camera flash, reflected natural or artificial light seems to be the way to go for black or dark colored cats. Reasonably hard light helps bring out the sheen as well as three-dimensional definition.
There are several threads here as well as resources out there if you google "How to photograph a black cat"

Most of my cats will not sit around long enough once the camera comes out and I have two others that won't last to next year which are my own cats.
Thanks and I'll google that as I have another black foster too.

I prefer Pachelbels lesser known work, Canon in L and the 99 cent menu club.

Luci was hanging-out in the sunspot today. As noted in previous posts, black cats are difficult to photograph. When I get the exposure close to where I want, she refuses to give me eye-contact.
Gaah ! ..... you can't win-em-all.
