I am a beginner to photography, and upon viewing some phots on my friends' pages, I saw this photo with a caption indicating 'zero-edit', I doubt that a lot actually.

So I'm linking the photo, and I would like your experienced opinion on whether this is actually un-edited in anyway. And if it actually is, how can you tell?

thank you in advance

Yours truly,
Sam

It's Qatar right?

Whether edited or not, it's not the nicest looking nightshot, looks all a bit blurry to me.

Every shot will be edited in a way or another, so what your friend is shooting in raw? You will edit and export into jpg ...

Yeah I realize it isn't the most ideal spot in Qatar, but I just to expose that it is actually edited and get him off his high horse for x reasons, and I don't have the needed experience to detect any editing.

what high horse are you talking about? certainly that horse does not include this picture above ... it's a blurry nightshot everyone can take leaving the shutter long enough open on a tripod.

I feel sorry for your "friend" in his choice of friends...

Not to mention the fact that you are posting his work, with his logo blotted out, on public forums.

Well the watermark is added, that counts as an edit to me. It also appears to be a jpeg....which would mean in camera or on computer post processing. Depending upon settings it could have sharpness, saturation, noise reduction, etc added and still be considered by some as straight out of camera. If you're talking color and the spectrum of light on there, low ISO long exposure can get that, so it's not necessarily Photoshop wizardry or HDR.

As mentioned in case you missed it during the sign up process:

you must own copyright to all photos you post, or have permission from the author

Most times when posting a work you didn't specifically create, the proper etiquette is link to where it is posted and properly identify the photographer
