Recently had an exhibition of portraits for the local volunteers, it was really nice to be able to give something back to the people who give alot to their community

You say you become aware of the value of these volunteers and the pictures show it. Thanks for the example of a gifted professionals work.

wow, these exceptional.

minor quibble to clone out the nose piercing in the second, it looks out of place and more like a defect.

Thanks for looking, the volunteers do a great job in a town of about 7000 here in NZ, the selection ranged from the volunteer fire service, to an 85 year old lady who takes meals on wheels for people much younger than her.

I like the quirks like the nose ring, I think it is representative of the 'volunteer' aspect of the people.

I also took the 125th Anniversary portraits for the Volunteer Fire Brigade (external link) and again, I was tickled by the little quirks that comes with being a part-timer, like having wonky medals and standing with hands in pocket etc
