I dont know if its compression, motion blur or missed focus, but the first/left image has something going on with it.

I agree missing some sharpness/blur issuess. Cell phone pic?

Yup, EXIF says Sony Xperia Arc. Not that the equipment really matters, but this just looks way too much like a cell phone snapshot.
