how do you shoot something like this?

Easy. Find a really dark location away from city lights, set up a tripod, set camera to ISO 3200 use a wide angle lens and open it up to f2.8 plug in a remote release and set camera for a 25 sec exposure...could use mirror lock up, I usually do but forgot on this shot. Block the viewfinder from light leak

For me personaly, jumping from 5dmk2 to 5dmk3 is a big leap forward.
In almost every aspect 5dmk3 is better than its predecessor: AF,light metering, high iso performance, even the IQ. Most importantly general workflow is better. When you come home and upload photos to computer they shine compared to 5mk2 and they are much easier to manipulate than 5mk2.

Many beautiful pics in here. I just got the Mk2 after many years of drooling. This will be a great upgrade some day.

Best regards/Daniel

I had the 5DII. If you don't need The 5DIII's higher frame rate and the AF system, the 5DII is pretty much as good as the 5DIII in terms of picture quality.

Picture quality is very close. AF system on the 5D3 is amazing. I used the joystick about 95% of time. With 61 AF points the composition is more interesting when your taking pictures.

Not forgetting it's high ISO performance = brilliant
