Hey fellow 60D-ers. I've been asked to do a wedding. How many of you guys use your camera to shoot weddings? I'm thinking if I need to upgrade or not. Thanks.

I am sure you can get better answers from more users but I would think the 60D will be fine for shooting weddings. The 60D is a very capable camera.

I shot a wedding in Dec. One thing I can definitely tell you,you will use high iso,be sure to have a good system for getting rid of noise, and most importantly...you better have at least a 2.8 or faster lens.

Based on the gear in my sig, you think I'll be ok?

Yeah, you should be good. That sigma 30 1.4,canon 50 1.4, and the 85 are gonna be your go to lens. I used the 70-200 2.8L IS with no flash, but I was pushing those ISOs really high. I see you have 3 flashes. I would put two on stands in the front of the building and one at the rear. That way you can probably light the whole building and get faster shutter speeds.

That's what I plan to do for the wedding I have next month.

Took inspiration from another thread and tried a bit of make shift studio lighting tonight.

I have never shot a wedding, but have shot a choir... A church is a church...

I used the 18-200 , the nifty fifty or my 70-200 MkII.

The primes you have are pretty good, but if I were asked to do a wedding, I would use primarily a zoom. In fact I would rent the 24-70...

The 60D is alright...:D

THanks for the suggestion. I really love shooting with primes, but thinking of getting the 24-105 to try out. i figure if i ever upgrade to ff, I'll already have a decent kit lens ready for me. =)

I think I'm going to use my primes and then shoot with my sigma 10-20 to get some nice wide angle shots. Man, I'm already getting nervous...lol

Haven't had much to contribute lately but finally got out for a little shooting last weekend. A couple of abstract shots to start out with.

Went to Indianapolis last Saturday to the World Of Wheels carshow. Nice way to spend a few hours pretending that summer has arrived early. This is the first time that I've shot this show with the 60D and I felt like I was livin' large! I still think this camera somehow makes its own light!
