Hey, man!

No studio pal.... i was in a hotel, i solely used 2 speed lights with 2 small umbrellas, triggered by Cybersyncs.... nothing else... and and 2 tripods...

i shot between f5/f8 and some at f2 with the flash set to super low, i also shot at ISO 100L (jpeg) no raw....

Cool thanks, i've got it setup in my garage for now. Just been playing around with the setup and making progress but I think I need to get something cheap to flag the lights from hitting the subject.

My word that's amazing!

Edit: You really should show these to Fuji so you can be their representative for all their upcoming cameras and products hehe.

Thanks, you're too kind haha. Honestly I'd love to but I'm a little afraid that they would reject them mostly because I've been shooting half naked models since I picked it up. I don't usually but it's just the type of work I've been getting the last few months. There's also a lot of other great shots I'm seeing from you guys and the X

I love that Chris. Really cool. Was this your concept or the model? I presume she is a smoker? :)

Gelled flash or post for the red smoke? I don't care - great shot either way.

If I had one critique - it would be the skin on her chest looks too soft?

Awesome stuff and cool that it's X-E1 in studio!

Thanks! It was hers for wanting smoking shots (neither of us smoke) but I've been wanting to do a similar shot with this lighting before but never got around to it and thought the smoke would add a cool effect. As far as her skin, she's got ridiculously clean and smooth skin. Some of the easiest to clean up in post I've shot so minimal retouching was done to the chest. That's basically how it looks ooc aside from a few blemishes I removed here and there. Oh and the smoke was done in post. The color not the smoke :)

Lovely photo Chris!
Nice to see the X-E1 survives with ease in the studio. I was a bit holding back on my purchase because I wasn't sure how it would do in these situations. It seems there was no need to worry :)

I just updated the latest firmware for the X and the 18-55 and the autofocus is far better than previous version. If they can continue to make incremental these improvements this camera will get better and better.

I was trying a few shots without focusing first and the camera now does surprisingly well and reasonably fast at getting into focus and firing the shot. I think my wife may actually be able to use this camera now.

Chris - great shot again. Thanks for the info. I hope you weren't offended by my critique as this is the wrong thread for offering opinions. I really like your work and your contributions are inspiring. ;)

Got a hold of a Hoya IR 72 filter for my Fuji 35mm lens. To me, landscape photography is not my strongest area, but it was fun. I've always been fascinated by infrared photography and when I heard the X-Pro1 can do this w/o much effort I was excited!

This brings me to a question, anyone have any recommendations for a compact yet sturdy tripod for the X-Pro1 (Max Price 300$)? I'm currently using a 19$ Optec tripod that I rarely used haha.

Nice, River Valley, right? Was there in April last year.
I'm relocating to Alberta this summer. Still trying to make a choice between Calgary or Edmonton though :p

Haha it is! I would say that if you really enjoy the city life then Calgary would be the better choice since there is more to do in that city. Edmonton is more of an all work and no play kind of city, although the river valley trail is very enjoyable to walk along.

Well, my best experiences in Edmonton where at night on Whyte Ave. Can't say there was only work and no play when I was there :D
Guess it's mainly the proximity of the mountains that attracts me a bit more to Calgary.

Right now I live in a quiet town with a population of 35000, so both cities will be a big step up :)

I don't mind the water colors that much in LR4 because I am use to it's work flow, but I hate how it takes so long to so through photos.
Processed in LR -> Ported to CS6 -> Ported to Silver FX -> Ported to CS6 = loving the results.

I don't really notice water color issues. I'm colorblind so that might be it but nothing that sticks out. Here's some from a buddy's bday party last night. Horrible lighting but whatevs, it was fun :)
