Minolta 58mm 1.2. Even better, bought it for $10, spent $70 on an EOS mounting plate. $80 total for a truly spectacular lens.

A hidden gem that I regret selling is a Tamron 24-135mm SP. The colors were very realistic an skintones were dead on. That was on a 10D but now I traded both for a 100mm non-L macro and I am very pleased on my 7D.

"Someone asked, what camera do you shoot with? Canon, of course, I replied. But when there was film, I shot Nikon. Someone then said, what is film?"

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I got a mitt full of Zeiss and Zuiko lens that sit right next to my L's and perform just as good, if not better than the L's.
