CaptainSteve,
I've seen this thread a couple times and always love looking at the pix! Maroon Bells Wilderness Area is one of my favorite locations for photography, mainly because it's only 4 hrs from home and I've spent enough time to know the area. :D

Spent time there in late August and again during Fall Colors. Since I don't want to take focus away from your pics, I'll PM you links to my pics if you care to browse. :)

A tool that I use quite often for pre-trip research is Photographers Ephemeris (external link) (both desktop version on my MacBook Pro and the iOS version on my iPhone & iPad 3). Highly recommended for knowing where the sun / moon will be along with shadows, etc. :D

Hey alls just checking my old threads and saw pete's message here, we already talked in PM's about the Bells and he gave me great trips ideas.

just wanted to say yeah on the Photographers Ephemsris I've been using that for over a year and a half and use it alot for getting sun Angles and Moon angles and picking spots to go to because of that.. soo Yep Pete I have that on both my computers :)

And I have not shared this pic yet on these forums anywhere,, your gonna want to click this its a 6 shot pano of the Maroon Bells I took with my two days there.
