Is this lens out yet? Also, this may be a bad question, but is this lens going to be bundled as a kit with anything? 6d? 1dx? right now it is to much money to consider, but if the price goes down, I might.

It may well come as part of a kit in the future, but who knows is the best answer! It is relatively new, and prices are still relatively high - give it a couple of months and it will probably settle.

Here there is a bundle with the 6D (but not available yet...).
You may also consider the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC (very good IQ according to some reviews and affordable compared to some Canon lenses...).

I tried it, it was a dud. Softer than a good towel. I returned it. Stick with one of the f/2.8 versions, or get the 24-105 instead. For reference, my 15-85 on my 50D blew the 24-70 f/4 (on a 5D3) completely out of the water, no contest.

Aren't you the person that just dropped your Sigma lens, and you expected it to keep working?

Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC gets good reviews. Lots of people rate it better than the EF 24-70 f/4 AND the EF 24-70 f/2.8. Top of the line would be EF 24-70 f/2.8 II. I can't afford any of them.
