I've got a 5D2 and my boss kindly gave me a 600EX flash. I only do landscape work but occasionally I could use flash especially off camera flash. So I am considering buying the ST-E3 Radio Transmitter. However, I just wondered if anyone can tell me:

Can I tell the 5d3 to fire off camera flash and if so do I have the same specs as when using the ST-E3.

I'm just toying with the idea because I guess I could sell my 5D2 for maybe a thousand bucks and the cost of the ST-E3 is about $340 so there's nearly $1500 towards a 5D3.

No, the 5D3 doesn't have wireless flash trigger built in, none of the 5D series have a pop up flash so the feature is not available. You'll need to the wireless flash trigger, this is the one that I use and it works like a charm, also it's much cheaper. (http://www.amazon.com …s=Trigmaster+Plus+II+2.4G (external link))
