How do you keep the fire/embers from falling on the camera?

Bottles. Trying to get a nice label brightness and a thin side bottle highlight with no (well, minimal) other unwanted reflections.
Moved side slits further forward/back and varied the width of the side slits for various side highlight effects.

I used steel wool which had already burned for the most part so I just got the glow without sparks. The base of the glass is pretty large as well so sparks which did form just dropped onto the foot. For the blue flame I just burned 80% alcohol.

This one is my favorite shot. Care to explain the exposure of the side lights and the main light? I have never tried shooting bottles! Have the side lights hotter than the main, or does it only appear that way?

I looked at your gear and I really like that bag that you have. Is it a double or single shoulder strap, and who is the maker??

Hey man, it's the lowepro vertex 100 aw, got two shoulder straps, slot for laptop and a hidden waterproof cover

No magic on exposure. Sure I metered the main label light, then started with side lights the same or +1 & adjusted until I liked it. Ain't digital great!
