If I'm not mistaken, the optics are 2,800mm @ f/10... YES... 2,800mm!!! Hehehehhee... That should be close enough to get the facial pores on surfers, right?!

 :D

Waited for the sun to rise on a hill close to my house overlooking the city. As it turned out the almost complete overcast made for a no-show from the sun but the trusty 1Ds3 still captured a few images.

I've not been using the 1Ds Mark III recently, because of the 5D mark III, but I'm still keeping it in my camera bag!

Buttermilk Falls, NJ. 1Ds Mark III with 70-200 2.8 II.

Still fond of the IQ of Canon 1Ds Mark III....Never got a chance to get one, ended up with a 5D Mark III w/grip that is still NIB never used. At the present I use my 1DX but always checking 1Ds Mark III posts.
Would trade my 5DMIII for a new (or pristine) 1Ds Mark III any time....

Really .... why i am looking to purchase later this year and I love the feel of a 1d in my large hands but yet i get concerned about old vs new. My gut tells me i will never be good enough to notice a difference and logic tells me my 1d mkiii and a 1ds mk iii would outfit me nice when i am hiking and going from landscape and macro shots to the fast paced wildlife shots i like the 1D for.
