Dear Stella, my faithful 135.

I regret to inform you that due to the ever growing need in our business for versatility, we unfortunately are in the position that we need to let you go. Your brilliance will be missed and you will definitely make your new owner very happy.

You see Stella, you are the best in the business at what you do, but unfortunately for us, we need someone who can be a "Jack of all trades." Your inability to multitask has caused us to be forced to make this difficult decision.

Your transfer to one of our associate photographers, effective immediately, is required in order to free up funds for your replacement, Bessie. Bessie is a 70-200 F/2.8L IS II. She is a requirement for our line of work, and she is very good at her job.

I want you to know that Bessie is definitely not going to replace what you have given us. So that leaves Jane, the 85mm F/1.2L on the third floor, who will have to pick up the slack in your department. Just know that if in the future we can find a place for you in our ever changing inventory, you will always be welcome back.

So Stella I want you to know that this is not personal, it's just business. Your new owner is very excited to meet you. Please continue to work as hard for him as you have for us. Thank you again for your service.

That is quite true. So, will anything replace what Stella gave you? I mean, how will you shoot at 135mm and an aperture of f2 now? Neither the 70-200 or the 85mm can do that.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

That's why I sold my sharp 135L. It sits in my case abuse collecting dust, while my 70-200 II gets all the attention. I couldn't agreed more with the OP.

And people are often uncomfortable around her due to her overwhelming, and intrusive attitude.

I didn't miss my 135L until I bought a 5D. If you can let it go, it needs to be gone. I am happy for the new owner.
