I just want to know if anyone uses a iPad or other tablet to store photos whilst away from home? Or a laptop or an ultrabook. I am asking this because my laptop is really bulky, heavy and on its way to die :(

Canon 7D, Canon 100mm L F2.8, Sigma 120-300mm F2.8 OS, Sigma 50mm F1.4, Canon 430 ex II, Sigma 2x teleconverter, Kenko extension tubes, Vello flash cord And a few bits and peices and a Yashica 635!!!

Purchase a laptop which is not heavy and bulky... you can do so much more than with a tablet.

I use a tablet for mobile tethered shooting but I don't actually store anything on it.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Ipad with the SD card reader, great for photo upload while our and about. Also with the right apps you can edit quickly!

You use the iPad for a storage device while traveling, dumping from the camera card(s) to the tablet?

Yeah I've read somewhere you can do that but I'm not sure if it has to be Jpeg format rather than RAW

Yeah, I do the same too! It helps when you just shoot pictures with your friends, edit them a little and voila, they are online (if the place I am in has WiFi). If not, then I just go home and upload them.
