I borrowed 2 softboxes and going to give them a try this weekend with a model. Probably shoot some portraits and full body portraits. Orb will be powered with 3 Canon Speedlights and Strip with 1.
Give me some ideas how to place them, I've NEVER used softboxes before.

Orb Camera right or left about 30 to 45* and above the model a bit.
Strip more or less opposite the Orb as kicker.

Good place to start.

You may already know this, but just beware that that your orb will need to be on a boom as it does not rotate vertically on a stand. It's frustrating to position which is why mine is listed on kijiji currently. But yeah. With a strip at either 3 or 9 'clock, you're going to want to position oppositite for greatest contrast.

i rotated my orb just fine without a boom

there is a zipper the runs through it - just leave the bottom zipper unzipped
