I was going to exchange my lens with B&H. but it shows on their website that it is now discontinued and can't be purchased from the website. I wonder if they will still do the exchange?

If you just got your lens and it's bad then I'm sure they will work with you on an exchange or refund. They likely kept a few for such situations. Call them and find out.

I sent mine back to beach camera for exchange. Hopefully, they will have item in stock by the time they do a replacement. Otherwise, i will request them to send it back the same item and work with sigma to fix front focus issue.

At the price, it may be worth sending it to sigma under warranty. People that have had said they're happy with the results.

Thanks. Just submitted an online request for exchange. Hopefully they have some stock available as you mentioned.

I just went to BH's site and could put one in my cart as though I was trying to purchase one. So hopefully, you just got an incorrect error.
I still see them in stock at Beach Camera where I got mine and will try to exchange first if I happen to have issues with mine. If not, I will send to Sigma for correction since it seems all that have done that have been happy with the end result.
Anticipated delivery date is now Friday, but with the storms we have had the last few days in Iowa, FedEx is not guaranteeing any deliveries to Iowa. But at worst, I will have it soon thereafter.

Yeah. At this moment they appear to be in stock. Maybe he was looking at the new version which is not in stock.

Wow! That is some serious front focusing on your copy!

Oh... unless you were focusing on his feet.

Ya know, most people on here complain about their lenses being soft and all, but trying any lens at f/1.4 is a challenge from the get go. I really love the way the lens sharpens after f2. I'm keeping mine!

There is definitely a learning curve to using an f1.4 aperture correctly with such a narrow DOF. I also find, (and others have had similar experiences) that the auto focus can sometimes be inconsistent depending on the amount of light, the aperture, the size and/or closeness of your subject, and the subject itself, like a tightly packed book case where some books are a bit closer than others. In that situation shooing at f/1.4 using AF gets tricky. To see these inconsistencies you usually will have to do a bit of pixel peeping, When viewing "normally" at full screen on my 23" HD monitor, most, but not all, of the focus inconsistencies are harder to see.

I just went back in and you are correct. When i posted earlier though, there were still copies available for Canon mounts on the B&H site. I was even able to put a copy in my cart and then deleted it. Of course I don't know if the order would have been accepted.
