Here is a chickadee from this evening in the fading light. ISO 2000, 560mm (kenko 1.4x), f8.0, 1/320th (on tripod). Really gray skies and horribly back-lit, I had the exposure at around +2 EC.

Great pics frizzle, hope I can get something even close to that ... I'm going to Mugello in June for the MotoGP. Doubt I'll be able to get close enough to the action without a press pass though, which is a shame.

Thanks mrjinxx - Phillip Island is such a great spectator friendly circuit.
At turn one (Doohan Corner) they come so close to you that you can almost touch them.

Nice Robin image. The Kenco extender obviously pairs well with the 400mm.

I had my 400mm and 1.4xTC fitted for more distant birds yesterday when a Blackbird landed close to me. I just fitted her in the frame:

I was out this morning a saw this guy out of the corner of my eye. Whipped around and grabbed a few shots as he flew off into the woods.

Hi Folks,

Amazing shots in this forum.

I'm considering buying this lens, about 90 percent of the time for airshow, the lens would go on a 7D.

I've seen some razor sharp action shots. How ''easy'' is it to take these kind of shots handheld.

Thanks for answering.

Mike

For airshows it's sweet! It's almost as good as the 500 V1 but lacks IS. Not a huge deal though and still makes for great shots on a pro body.
