This wait is killing me......

It's not the wait, it's the ambiguous ETA. Amazon is telling me my camera will be delivered sometime between 3/8 and 4/23...

B&H is listing the X20 release date as February 28th.

I wonder how accurate that is...

I love the idea of the x100. I found that in use some things were off, I found that f-stops didnt really effect exposure in a linear way. I found that metering is sometimes way off, as in one moment iso 200 and f4 and 1/60th, the exact scene a moment later being an iso 6400, f2, 1/150 and completely over exposed. Such potential.

x100s and x20 jpg sample shots are in

x20 (external link)

x100s (external link)

Interesting choice of subjects and I found it a little odd that they only went up to iso 800 for the x100s. I thought one of their major selling points was the low noise at high iso.

I wonder if the X20 is really going to be available within a week.

those iso 800 shots are still quite clean compared to the old X100 ISO 800 and even 400.

Now I'm jealous of Japan! I hope the camera lands here sooner than expected. I pre-ordered from Adorama the day it was announced. I wonder if Helen has any insider info?

Won't even consider an X100S until someone figures out the XTRANS RAW thing.

Lightroom 4.4 Release Candidate includes a correction to the demosaic algorithms for Fujifilm cameras with the X-Trans sensor. This specifically impacts the following cameras:

Fujifilm X-Pro1
Fujifilm X-E1
Fujifilm X100S
Fujifilm X20

I would definitely get the X100s if I was in your shoes.

But then again, I wouldn't have purchased an OMD. ;)

I've owned and x100 and now a happy OM-D owner. Im sure the x100s will be the camera we all wanted the x100 to be, however the option to have a good variety of lenses for the OM-D will keep me with this system for a while. They are 2 different beasts and I don't think you can go wrong with either.
