This is my first time doing video. I interview a couple with a T3i, audio techinca lavatr-3350 run it through a juicelink ds214 with the gain set to low. You will see in this video that the gentleman voice is way lower then his wife. I would like to know beside him speaking lower. What could I have done different to achieve better quality audio? How can make it sound like his wife's voice or close? I am using premiere to edit. When I tried to raise the gain in premiere I could hear a hiss. I am sure this is the auto gain from the camera. If I am not mistaking. I do have sony vega which included sound forge. If it will work better for correct the problem. Any comment, critique, are welcomed. I just hope I can save this audio. I hate growing pains!

It sounds like you left the lav on her while interviewing him.

One microphone per person, keeping it a consistent distance away from their mouth at all times. If you didn't capture enough level live, there's not much you can do to restore it later without adding a lot of noise too.

If you can list all your gear in your sig line, you don't have enough stuff.

Were you monitoring the audio while recording and were the levels matched then?

Did you use the AGC disable function? The juiced link device you have eliminates the right channel when the AGC disable is switched to on.
