But that's the thing, the 6D is not a high end camera. It's entry level 35mm. Want a high end camera? Take a look at the 1D X or D4.

No, they buy the T4i like crazy because it's small, light, and costs $800. 35mm dSLRs are a very small segment of SLR camera sales.

true, specially that people love Iphone for pictures, I have read somewhere that Canon lost apprx 20-25 % of their sales to these gadget.....

Sad but true, but it could be more, like the recession, and other cie that are fierce!

I could care less about having 63 AF point. But 1 single cross type point seems like a joke.

it wasn't a joke when the 5dc was leading the FF revolution. i owned a 5dc and i can seldom recall when i was hindered by the AF.

i think for the masses and even 95% of the guys here the 6d AF is more than sufficient.

Yeah I agree... at the very least why not have 5 Cross Type Points... one in center, outer top/bottom and outer both sides.

Canon should not be competing against themselves... they should be competing against Nikon at the same tier. The Nikon D600 has "39 focus points (including 9 cross-type sensors; the center 33 points are available at apertures slower than f/5.6 and faster than f/8, while the center 7 points are available at f/8), and AF-assist illuminator (range approx. 0.5 to 3 m/1 ft 8 in. to 9 ft 10 in.)

6D is a nice little camera. It has its niche and Canon did a solid job catering to those who wanted an improved full frame camera for less.

The thing is that Ni.... is giving a lot for your money, maybe Canon ought to re-think about the autofocus on some cameras, it does'nt hurt, we'll be happy!

I will try other camera soon, and I will see if its worth buying another brand!

To all the people complaining about what Canon does, its a business and they need to make money. Their bottom lines comes first and they will slot products in everywhere they feel they can make money. They wouldn't do it if they weren't making money. It's the same as their new $800 primes, ridiculous yes, but people buy them, there is a monetary end goal for every product the release on their end. If you expect every product they put out to have the best of the best then you need to wake up, that's not logical.

To put it in photography terms, why don't pros offer everything they provide with their $10k wedding package (for example), in their $2k package? Uhhh... I think that answers itself.

Every single market segment does what Canon does, get over it, its business.

I've been hearing how great the D600 is with their "39 focus points". However the Nikon D600..has their "39 focus points" concentrated in the center of the frame. The 6D extends/covers more of the frame with 11 points. Sounds a little more practical to me.

canon walks the line between giving you what you want and maximizing its profits. that's just the way it is. you have the right to vote with your wallet.

And Canon has quite the marketshare lead over nikon over the past year. Canon must be doing something right.

If you want more AF points for 2K then go buy the Nikon D600.

You could think that way, but look at iPhone and iPad, they lost it to Samsung, in a wink.
I'm just talking autofocus, cross type, and GPS is really something people don't care!

no?
