How do you figure that "Monochromatic" helped sharpness? This is the first time that I've seen this.
What sharpening settings in DPP did you use? And did you use "Sharpness" or "USM"?

My friends and I have an old saying, if in doubt, go black and white. A lot of slightly out of focus shots seem to come together when turned into B&W.
In DPP I used custom white balance by using the dropper on someones white shirt. I use the RAW sharpness, then go to RGB and sharpen the colors some more. Canon DPP is one of the best software porgrams in my workflow. I use Lightroom2 and it cannot read my T3's .cr2. (I hear LR4 can). Also with DPP you can shoot in Monochromatic and reverse it back to color.
