HI, I was forced to buy the new canon 70-200 MK2 as my old one started to not focus. I looked down the barrel it was full of mold. I live in the sub tropics, canon said they couldn't fix it.

The new lens is mighty expensive but I never thought they could improve over my original 70-200 but they have. It is such a good lens I am happy but broke. Below is a link to some soundwave and metallica shots I took with it over they weekend. The other lens used was a 16-35.........cheers taojones

These are all great. They all look super sharp and I love the editing too.

I always thought using a 70-200 from the pit was too long, even for big festivals like this. These inspire me to use my Mk II for the next show I shoot. :D

Hi norkusa, thanks for taking a look. I have been shooting festivals for a little while now and 99%of my shots have been with the 70-200 I wouldn't know what other lens to use. In the pits I have been in, that focal range is the most used. I highly recommend you using it you will never go back to what you have been using. I take the occasional shots with a 16-35 toget that wide angle distorted look or the whole group shot. Cheers and happy shooting with the 70-200, tao

Great shots. Always amazed how you guys freeze motion and maintain great exposure in concert lighting.
