Just picked this lens up. Replacing my trusty Canon 28-70L. I've also owned the canon 24-70 as well.

It's nice and sharp, the vingetting is easy to fix.

Only thing is, it froze my 5d MarkIII once after about 100 shots. Took out the battery and everything was ok. Is this something people are experiencing?

First two developed shots

Does any one have wobble with this lens when it's on 24mm? Not a major one, the inner barrel probably moves around about .3-.5mm. Mine seems to but the wiggle depreciates when zoomed and on the longest zoom it's totally gone. I love this lens btw!!

Impressive. Your EXIF shows this was shot at f/1.2 with a 24-70 f/2.8 lens. Any idea how that happened?

No idea, I went back and looked and it was at f/3.2, I have no idea why it would show up that way.

I have been considering selling my 24-105 and going for the Tamron...quite a bit of difference I would have to put on top, but not sure if its worth it just to get f2.8...What would you guys do? Is have that 1 stop of light worth $700?

Do you use your 24-105 much? I sold my 24-105 for this one. I mainly shoot primes, and like that 'extreme separation' look, but still wanted a zoom. This definitely has more attractive bokeh, and is sharper, but it's also bigger, heavier, shorter, and more expensive.

I used the 24-105L because thats all I had, but slowly getting lenses to cover specifically what I shoot. I shoot the 24-105L 50% at either extremes, and the rest in the middle. I hate having f4 though, I love having subject separation, and I find even with my 50 1.4 shot at 2.8 I get enough of that look that I want.

My 24-105 has not been on my 5D3 since I got the Tammy! I too like the separation the 2.8 gives me. The 24-105 was my walk around lens, now I carry the Tamron and so far I really like it.
