Slowly creeping out of the woodwork... :)

Glad you noticed.

I see you still have a great birding setup! 6FPS good enough for you? What is the world coming to?

Hope you can make it out to a Boston meet.

According to his gear, he's got it. Though he's still got a 1DIII, so that'll take care of the bird situation i guess.

Actually, I'm pretty convinced the 5D III is my new birding camera.
Burst rate never mattered much to me, I just needed the camera to be able to shoot as fast as I can trigger it, which is about 5fps.
It was the AF that kept me shooting with 1D of 3 generations.., and well, the 5D III has AF that will match the 1Dx and beat any other 1D ever made.

I've had it for just a week now, but I am fully convinced of this based on last weekends evidence. (Oh I wish this weekend were going to be as nice as last)
I held on to most of my old stuff even during my down time.. I'm sure I'll keep the 1D MkIII as my back up/2nd body, but I might part out some of the other stuff.

Braintree?

Sadly no, last time I checked there was a two month wait for there orientation class. I'll be checking out the club in Hanson. The indoor 24/7 access plus the no restriction on ammo was what I was looking for. The club here in town is 10-10 and only lead ammo, unfotunately though most of the ammo I'm finding for my pistols is fmj. Lately though I've gotten lucky and now I'm able to source lead and hollow point.

2 Month wait?!? Damn. I'm considering picking up a firearm for the house. Didn't know i'd be waiting so long. Would probably be over a year before i'd even be legal to get it. :(

I plan on getting my license some time this year. A friend of mine (who goes to the Braintree club, been there a few times) teaches the class.

Because shooting stuff is fun

I own the 5D3 and 1DX...I wouldn't say the focus of the 5D3 is as good as the 1DX but the 5D3 focus is better than any of the previous 1series I've used, including my 1D 4
