With the great success of the 35 1.4, where does Sigma go from here? I'm hoping for a 24 1.4 to go up against Canon. Could they strike lightning in a bottle again with some more revamped lenses?

Has there been any word on future focal lengths from Sigma?

Yeah I'm hoping for a 24mm 1.4 too or maybe a good zoom.

Just like the 35mm 1.4 where Canon had a great lens but maybe priced too high, there's probably a good opportunity for someone to sell a lot of lenses if they can make a good 24mm priced at < $900. With the 50mm being relatively good and affordable already, I would be less excited about that focal length update, but maybe an 85mm 1.4? Personally I'd like to see an optically superior and more affordable wide angle zoom like the 16-35 2.8 II, but that's just me.

Whatever it is, hope it's as good as the 35! I don't even really need that lens, but I want it now lol!

135mm (f1.8 or f2) with OS! However, Canon already has an excellent 135 that is affordable. I hope Sigma can do the same as they did with the 35.

This post and video should help, shows hands-on with two other (than the 35mm) new Sigmas:

https://photography-on-the.net …p=15601825&postcount=2975

17-70mm from the "contemporary" line.

120-300mm f/2.8 from the "sport" line.

And the recently announced 30mm f/1.4 from the "art" line:

the newest one hasn't come out yet...the sigma 30mm f1.4 ART...

I'd expect it to be a lens that's already available rather than a lens that is entirely new...so i'd guess 50mm f1.4

That would be my guess as well. I also have a crazy idea that they might go for a 24-70 f/2.8 OS.

The last lens I bought was the Canon 50/1.4 so Murphey would pretty much make the Sigma 50/1.4 Art next.

For me, a new version of their 20mm f/1.8, with HSM & better optics... 24mm is not enough ultra wide for my usage.

There's probably a very high chance, this won't happen. The 35/1.4 is already around that price.. a 24/1.4 is more expensive(read: harder) to design and manufacture. It would likely be in the $1100-$1200 range, in the beginning, anyways.

How about the one thing that Canon has failed to deliver - a wide angle zoom that is sharp across the frame. (Like the Nikon 14-24.)

It does not have to be 14-24 mm tho. Just wide and razor sharp! I think Sigma could have a real winner with a lens like this.

Sony A7R * 70-200 2.8L II * 24-70L II * Samyang 14
Recently sold: 5DIII * Sigma 35 *

+1. That's the lens I'd make if I were Sigma.

Who knows how long it'll take before Canon wakes up? Sigma could make some serious cash on a tack sharp UWA-zoom.

Most buyers wouldn't even care about the dreaded Sigma AF lottery. :D
