I had to post as my new 70-200 2.8LII just arrived this afternoon UPS. Took my wife outside and fired off a few. Put them in LR and exported (from RAW with no adjustments), pulled them up on a standard viewer and with no one in the room found myself saying..."Wow!".

Thought it only fitting that I post. :D <-- That means, I'm a happy guy!

It's a beast but I started going to the gym again.

I would bet for many people it would be the 50mm f1.8. Sure once you use better lenses, it's no longer a "wow" lens, but for me, compared to shooting f5.6 on my kit zoom, and compacts before that, it was mind-blowing.

The one's that still keep me grinning, years later, are the Sigma 30mm and the Tokina 50-135mm.

Yup, you nailed it. That's the point where I said to myself "woooooow, ok, now I see what this is all about". :)

Mine was the 50 f1.8. I was new to SLR's and the bokeh just blew me away compared to anything my point-and-shoot. Now that lens seems pretty "meh" to me, but it was amazing when I got it.

It's likely that I'm easily impressed, but each of my lenses have impressed me, each in different ways.
