Really digging this camera! Shot this one this morning when he came in and cleared out all the Dark-Eyed Juncos.

QUOTED IMAGE

Nice shot of a Stellar Jay! Never knew there was such a bird until I seen one in Anchorage.

Hi Lisa

It seems like a really cool camera. I'm almost afraid this would replace my dslr.

Well....Idk about that.....I still like the picture quality from my dslr but like I said....I haven't played much with this one. Wanted it for the zoom and more ease of use ya know.... I have to say I like it tho!!!!!!

IU've stopped taking the 7D out with me and haven't missed it. Got this yesterday and was very pleased with it (and posted it on the bird forum)

Purple Finch

My best bird photo to date with the SX50, handheld at 200x, cropped to eliminate the feeder elements.

Thanks 2mnyars and tawcat. Hopefully I'll get to improve as I practice more with the camera and the birds. :-))

its always the photographer that takes the photos.. not the camera ;)
i have seen much better pictures of the SX50 like this:
http://kenn3d.smugmug.com …ar_waxwing_bit_173-X2.jpg (external link)

http://kenn3d.smugmug.com …sx50_bluebird_028a-XL.jpg (external link)

http://kenn3d.smugmug.com …0_cardinal_bit_084-XL.jpg (external link)

http://kenn3d.smugmug.com …_robin_bit_CR2_004-XL.jpg (external link)

And even with the SX40 i took much better shots. so dont blame it on the Camera.
I dont think you can take much better shots with a DSLR, even if you buy a 400mm 5.6L And crop like crazy.
