A little widow pops up, and states:
EPSON Scan connot be started.
Please use the Troubleshooting Assistant to solve the problem.
Do you want to open the Troubleshooting Assistant?

The a box with YES or NO.

After checking (yes) it redirects me to another page
but nothing that says anything about powering on the unit.

wierd.

The scanner has an on/off switch on the right side (viewed from the front), about 80% of the way towards the back, sort of under the ledge. Also, on the back is a mechanical lock/unlock switch to secure the carriage for shipping - make sure it is unlocked. The scanner gets power from its AC adaptor, but probably also needs a live USB connection before the green power light in front will come on. Hope this helps.
