They are known for holding orders from new customers until they confirm the order details over the phone.

If this is your first order with Canon Direct, you may want to give them a call. Otherwise it may take them a couple days to attempt to contact you.

You were totally right...I had to call them - then they called me back THEN it got shipped. I placed the order last Friday and payed extra for FedEx 2nd day so......well see when I actually get my hands on it!!!

What insurance is this? I want in.

I have USAA, but anyone who insures your car or home should have personal property insurance. Call up whoever you use, and see what they offer :)

Got mine today, it was ordered Saturday. Looks brand new, software says shutter count of 68. Haven`t had much time to play with it today. So hopefully it works as good as it looks.

Hmmm, I'll have to check my shipping confirmation again. Pretty sure there was no tracking info though, weird....

Ordered Saturday and received yesterday. As shining as new, even with a film layer over the LCD. How do you check the shutter count?

This F'ing F'er has been staring back at me all weekend. Anyone else?

I caved two weeks back when the first batch was there at that price. In fact, I caved in about 6 minutes.

Been loving it ever since it got here.

It's a great camera eh Jake?

It just focuses so well.
Everything is sharp. In AI servo it seems to hit everything as well.
Just had Canon do a clean and check on mine and the 70-200 II

As for the deal, it's all over (out of stock) since Tuesday as far as I know. Congrats to all the lucky ones.
